The Empress Theater in the West End of Montreal was the inspiration for this musical number done by G. Scott MacLeod. It pictates a rallying cry for the protection and preservation of the old theater that once housed many famous musicians, performers and entertainers alike. Scott MacLeod’s vision like many people who live in NDG, home of the Empress Theater, wanted to see this great monument turned into the Empress Cultural Centre serving the people and community of NDG/CDN.
The Empress Blue music video shows the history and culture of this once fine building and what it housed back in the day, which included burlesque dancers, live bands and musicians to live stage performances. Even the famous William Shatner started here as a stage performer, doing plays.
